Frequently asked.
Short answers. If you need more, email hello@dailyspend.ai.
How is this different from other budgeting apps?+
Most finance apps are dashboards — you have to open them and look at charts. Daily Spend has no dashboard. The product is a single number on your lock screen that updates throughout the day. Think of it as a step counter for spending.
Is it safe to connect my bank?+
Yes. Bank connections go through official bank APIs (not screen scraping). You log in with your credentials directly to your bank — we never see or store your password. Our access is read-only; we cannot move money.
How quickly do transactions show up?+
Most Apple Pay and debit transactions appear within minutes. Credit card and some bank transactions can lag 6–24 hours — that is a limitation of the banks themselves, not the app. We use direct bank APIs (not screen scraping), which reduces this lag, but it cannot eliminate bank-side posting delays.
What about refunds?+
Refunds appear as negative transactions and reduce your daily total. This may change in a future version.
Why do I have to manually add the widget?+
Apple does not allow apps to install lock-screen widgets programmatically. The first-run flow walks you through it with a 30-second video. The widget setup is the most important step — without it, the app has nothing to show.
Can I hide the number?+
Yes. Settings has a privacy toggle that keeps the widget on your lock screen but hides the amount. Useful when handing someone your phone.
Can I cancel any time?+
Yes. You can cancel during the 7-day free trial and pay nothing. After that, cancel any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Is there an Android version?+
Not in V1. Android may follow if there is demand, but the lock-screen widget experience is iOS-only for now.
How do I delete my data?+
Settings → Delete account. We remove your bank connection, your cached transactions, and your account from our servers.
